Training: Policy-Oriented Advocacy for Civil Society Organizations (London)
The Open Society Foundations is organizing a training on policy-oriented advocacy for civil society organizations working in select cities in Western Europe who are engaged in innovative practices seeking to influence decisions of policymakers.
The training will support organizations at the grassroots level that are working to improve the treatment and participation of minorities and marginalized groups by strengthening their capacity to effectively understand how they can better engage with the policymaking process and tools.
This participatory course is open to a limited number of participants and will be conducted in English.

Target Group
Applications are invited from civil society groups/organisations working to improve the treatment and participation of minority and marginalised groups, and based in any of the following European cities: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Leicester, London, Marseille, Paris and Rotterdam.
Participants will be expected to have a good working knowledge and understanding of English.
To Apply
Applicants are asked to complete and submit the following:
- A letter of intent outlining how the training will assist you and your organisation now and in the future (Annex 1)
- An overview of a policy advocacy project/campaign that you are planning for the next year in your city (Annex 2)
Both forms are available for download below, and must be returned to Klaus Dik Nielsen by February 07, 2012.
Applications must be submitted in English.
